In the book of 2 Peter he teaches the Christians how to deal with false teachers and evildoers who have come into the church.  There are only three chapters in this book:



  • The first covers the Christian calling of living out a godly life through the knowledge of Him.  It also says prophecy never had an origin in human will, but rather they spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
  • The second chapter covers false teachers and their demise.
  • The third chapter covers the Lord's return.

2 Peter was written toward the end of Peter's life.  Since Peter was martyred during the reign of Nero, his death must have occured prior to AD 68, so it is very likely that he wrote 2 Peter between 65 and 68.
