David is made king by the tribe of Judah.  David captured Jerusalem from the Jebusites and makes it the capital for the nation of Israelites.  Military wins make Israel strong but one spring David stays home where his downfall began.  He committed adultery with Bathsheba while her husband was out at war.  He had everything he could desire but still wanted her.  Eventually he had her husband, Uriah, killed in battle by deliberately placing him in the front lines where it was most dangerous.  The prophet Nathan confronts David about his adultery and David confesses his sin.  God’s consequences ultimately affect David and his family.
