What is the book of Proverbs about?

For context to the book of Proverbs, King Solomon asked God to have a discerning heart so that he would know how to govern His people and distinguish right from wrong.

The Lord, pleased that Solomon didn’t ask for long life, wealth or death of his enemies, gave him a wise and discerning heart “...so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be.” (1 Kings 3:12).

With this wise mind and discerning heart, Solomon wrote proverbs to guide God’s people on how to live the life God wants you to live.  Topics that are covered include sex/adultery, temptation, relationships, and your character.

Who wrote the book of Proverbs?

Mostly King Solomon with two chapters by Agur and King Lemuel.
